Community members are invited to participate in Piedmont Newnan Hospital’s next Walk with a Doc featuring Frank S. Powell, M.D. The walk will take place Saturday, Sept. 26, 8:30-9:30 a.m., at Carl Miller Park, 70 Sewell Road in Newnan.
Dr. Powell specializes in breast surgery, general surgery, hyperbaric medicine, thoracic surgery and wound care. During the event, Dr. Powell will take a few minutes to talk about a health topic of his choice and participants can ask him questions for the remainder of the session.
While the event is free, registration is required. Participants will receive a pedometer to help them keep track of the number of steps they take, as well as a choice of a free T-shirt or water bottle.

This is the final Walk with a Doc for 2015. The event will begin again early next year. Piedmont launched Walk with a Doc after their health needs assessment showed that one in four adults in Coweta County is physically inactive and nearly one in three is considered obese. The walks not only encourage physical fitness, but give participants one-on-one time with a physician.
