The old special education wing of Fayette Middle School is filled with lots of activity, color and love, as local churches have come together to transform the new home for AVPRIDE’s After School Enrichment and BRIDGES programs.
Providence United Methodist Church, New Hope Baptist Church, Grace Evangelical Church, Redemption Fellowship Church, Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, Heritage Christian Church and Peachtree City United Methodist Church are working toward a common goal to prepare students for school and create an environment that fosters imagination, creativity and higher learning.
The transformation project is being managed by Our Theatre Company (OTC), a local, grass-roots organization designed to provide opportunities for artists to express, teach and share their artistic talents.
“Soaring to New Heights is our theme for the new space and for the growth we will help our students achieve,” said AVPRIDE’s executive director, Pam Reid. “What better way to engage our local churches, than through a community outreach service project?”
