The Thomas Crossroads Career Center is unveiling some new programs this year. During its Second Annual Family & Friends Day, Goodwill will connect teens to information about summer job opportunities. It’s the first time the career center is offering employment resources for area youngsters at the event.
Goodwill’s mission to help individuals here in our community secure sustainable employment has been extended to local teens. When school is out, teens can use summer employment to occupy their time and help save for college.
Goodwill also helps people with disabilities or advantages find jobs through education, training, work experience and career placement services. All these programs, including job fairs, are made possible through your donations of gently used clothing and household goods that are sold at Goodwill Retail Stores.
The free Family & Friends Day will also feature sickle cell testing, representatives from West Georgia Technical College, fun for kids with the AmeriGroup Bouncy House, refreshments from the Frigid Frog and more.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Thomas Crossroads Career Center, 3121 Hwy. 34 East in Newnan.
