The Fayetteville Police Department’s 13th Annual Junior Police Academy is now accepting applications. The JPA is scheduled for July 27-31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Applications are due by June 1.
Recruits gain hands-on knowledge about police work every day by participating in activities such as vehicle stops, crime scene processing, physical fitness, defensive tactics, confidence enhancing challenges and team building skills. The activities are taught by veteran police officers.
Eligible recruits must have completed sixth grade and the enrollment is open to recruits up to tenth grade. Applications can be picked up at the Fayetteville Police Department, Bennett’s Mill Middle School or through any Fayette County School Resource Officer.
