Flint River Academy will hold its Baccalaureate on Sunday, May 17, at Woodbury Baptist Church with guest speaker Dr. John Talley, pastor of First Baptist Church of Senoia, bringing the graduates a message of congratulations and inspiration.
Graduation ceremonies will be held Friday, May 22, at 8 p.m. in the Flint River Academy Gymnasium. Valedictorian Trevor McClure, Salutatorian Nathan Lee, and five other Honor Graduates will address their classmates during the graduation ceremonies.
The graduates’ message this year is based on one of philanthropist S. Truett Cathey’s favorite proverbs: “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”
The class valedictorian, Trevor McClure of Greenville, is the son of Sandra McClure and Kris McClure. He has attended Flint River Academy for ten years and has a 3.96 grade point average. Trevor is Senior Class President, a member of the National Honor Society, Math Bowl, and FRA tennis and basketball teams. He will be attending the University of Georgia in the fall where he plans to major in biology as a pre med student.
The class salutatorian, Nathan Lee, is son of Stephen and Elizabeth Lee of Molena. He has attended FRA for thirteen years and has earned a 3.88 grade point average. Nathan is President of the FRA National Honor Society, is senior class treasurer, and is a member of the Key Club, Science Olympiad, Math Bowl, Boy Scouts, and FRA basketball, tennis, track, and cross country teams. He will be attending the University of Georgia and majoring in biology.
Flint River Academy is proud to announce that the other students graduating with honors include Lydia Hausman of Thomaston, Natalie Dunnahoo from Zebulon, J. Thomas Perdue of Thomaston, Nathan Strickland of Pine Mountain, and Carly Adamson of Waverly Hall.
Rounding out the class of 20 seniors are Anna Adcock from Woodbury, David Chester of Grantville, Karey Daniel of Williamson, Cole Harris of Imlac, Austin Hobbs of the Cove, Kendall McRae of Woodbury, Layne Holcombe of Senoia, Lane Law of Rocky Mount, Daniel Lively of Manchester, Jon McGinn of Williamson, Kersten Smith of Gay, John Taylor of Manchester, and Matt Thompson of Gay and Sharpsburg.
