Two local teams begin play this week in the GHSA state baseball playoffs, both playing at home as the top seeds from their respective regions.
Starr’s Mill hosts South Effingham in the first round of the AAAAA bracket for a best-of-three series. The teams will play a doubleheader Friday with the third game Saturday if necessary.
The same schedule applies for Whitewater, last year’s AAAAA state runner-up, who hosts Chamblee in the first round of this year’s AAAA playoffs.
