The July 4 fireworks display in Peachtree City is on. That was the news from City Hall on April 27 following recent concerns that the annual holiday highlight might have to be postponed due to dredging activities on lake Peachtree.

Peachtree City will get its annual fireworks display on July 4. The day will begin with the parade and will include limited family activities on City Hall Plaza in place of the Fourth Fest event prior to the fireworks over Lake Peachtree.

Earlier concerns about having to postpone the July 4 fireworks until Labor Day are no longer a consideration, Community Services Director Jon Rorie said on Monday.

Rorie said the city will work with Massana Construction, the company performing the lake dredging project, to have the fireworks display on July 4.

As usual, the holiday will begin with the heavily-attended parade and end with fireworks.

The portion of the Fourth Fest activities held by the Peachtree City Fire Department at Drake Field will be put on-hold this year since the parking area adjacent to Drake Field is being used as a staging area for dredging activities.
