Bernard “Bernie” Layton Young, 78, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away April 1, 2015.
Bernie was a graduate of Abilene Christian College with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He was retired from Alon Refinery in Big Spring, Texas. He was a member of the Peachtree City Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his son, Rodney Layton Young.
Bernie is survived by his wife Cleo; daughters Denise Hinton of Newnan and Kimberly (John R., Jr.) Hayes of Fayetteville; grandchildren Fallon Payne of Flower Mound, Texas, Hayden Hinton of Atlanta, Morgan Brooke Young of Flower Mound, Texas, Willie Hinton of Atlanta, Taylor Hinton at Georgia Southern University, Payton Hayes, Bruin Hayes, Brenleigh Hayes, and Ryann Hayes of Fayetteville; great-grandchild Hudson Payne of Flower Mound, Texas; brother Mike Young of Baird, Texas; sister Cinda Scott of League City, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, with Minister Aubrey Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
