The Starr’s Mill Panthers track team took first place in both the boys and girls competitions at last weekend’s Fayette County Championship meet.
Individual first-place finishers for the girls included Mary Valli in the 1600-meter run, Jolene Berthold in the pole vault, Shelby Myers in the shot put and Alexis Farley in the 100-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump. Farley broke the school record in the triple jump and qualified as a National Elite Silver Standard athlete in the long jump and triple jump.
Individual first-place finishers for the boys included Michael Runyon in the pole vault, Anthony Davis in the triple jump, Cody Clements in the high jump and Taylor Brunskole in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles.
