Members of Peachtree City United Methodist Church are seeking volunteers to help in their joint venture with Threshold Church in Newnan to stop hunger this Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m.

The venture is part of the Stop Hunger Now program, an international hunger relief agency that seeks to end global hunger by engaging local volunteers. The organization was formed in 1998, and began its meal packaging program in 2005.

Working together, church members from both churches intend to pack 10,000 meals that will be shipped throughout the world to support school feeding programs, orphanages, and crisis relief.  The group also will collect nonperishable food items for the Coweta Food Pantry.

The packing event will be held at Newnan First United Methodist Church, in the Parish Hall Building. 33 Greenville St., Newnan.
