Nine bicycling advocacy groups around the nation have been nominated for the second annual Bicycling Magazine People’s Choice Advocacy Award and one of those groups is advertising Peachtree City as a reason it should capture the most votes.

The Georgia Bike group, which is hoping to garner more votes than the other contenders from Maine to San Diego and spots in between, boasts that the state is home to eight officially recognized “Bicycle Friendly Communities” including Peachtree City.

The award is designed to recognize excellence in the bicycle and pedestrian movement and give attention to those who campaign for bicycle and pedestrian friendly locations.

The winner will be announced March 10 after the internet voting is counted. Voting is open to anyone through Friday, Feb. 20. To vote, visit www.bicycling.com/peopleschoice15.

“Bicycling” is the world’s largest cycling magazine and No. 1 source of information for cyclists. With an audience of about two million readers, cyclists of all levels look to Bicycling to get more out of the sport they love, including authoritative reviews of the latest bikes and gear, smart, insightful tips on where to ride, what to eat and how to train, and award-winning features about cycling’s most engaging personalities and trends.
