As part of its Grow Deeper Series, Peachtree City United Methodist Church will host a study session on the upcoming Lenten Season. The purpose of the course is to help participants to grow deeper in their faith building by learning what Lent means in the Christian faith.

Grow Deeper: Lent study session will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m.-noon, in Room #304 at the Robinson Road campus, 225 Robinson Road, Peachtree City. Childcare will be provided.

Lent is the 40-day (excluding Sundays) Christian season of preparation before Easter. Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18, marks the first day, or the start, of the season of Lent.

Lent is a time when Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline.

The purpose of Lent is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ — his suffering and his sacrifice, his life, death, burial, and resurrection
