A resident of Fayetteville since 1981, Irene worked until she was 80 in the field of residential real estate with ReMax Around Atlanta, and was one of the top Realtors in Fayette County. Her active, caring, non-stop personality helped her excel in real estate, earning such prestigious awards such as 100 Percent Club, the Lifetime Million Dollar Club and joining the Re/Max Hall of Fame. In 1992, she earned the coveted Phoenix Award from the Fayette County Board of Realtors.

Irene and her husband Karl were founding members of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. They both were instrumental in the construction of the church and life centers thru their fundraising efforts, and helped the congregation grow & prosper.

Family was very important to Irene, and she enjoyed spending time with her two sisters and their husbands traveling the world, or playing pinochle, Lucille Pryor Ireland and husband Kelly, and Joyce Gaffner and husband Les. She was very proud of her three children Gary Lynn Schoene, and wife Sharron, Linda Joyce Schoene, Dr. Janice Marie Bloink and her husband Jim. She looks forward to once again being reunited in Heaven with her husband of 57 years, Karl Hugo Schoene, her parents Fred and Edith Pryor, brother-in-law Les Gaffner, her niece Pamela Portell, and precious great great granddaughter Aaliyah Houpt.
