The 2015 Miss Sandy Creek Scholarship Pageant will feature 13 contestants and new components to the competition.
Along with the formal wear presentation and individual interviews with judges, scoring will include the new areas of business attire presentation, an essay, and talent demonstration.
The pageant, sponsored by the Sandy Creek High School Choral Department as its biggest fundraiser of the year, is set for Saturday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone.
The following young ladies will compete for $3,000 in scholarship money in this year’s pageant: Stephanie Arreola, Brianna Bowers, Cydney Braumuller, Shawn Corbin, Sydney Corbin, Xena Diaz, Katherine Gilmer, Ellie Klarl, Ashlynn Long, Megan McNeil, Kasey Melkonian, Lyric Sabin, and Madhavi Sharko.
During the pageant, a song from SCHS’s upcoming spring musical, “Cinderella,” will be performed by cast members. In addition, multiple door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance on Friday, Jan. 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the SCHS cafeteria, or at the door on the evening of the pageant.
