After being named to the Atlantic Sun Academic All-Conference Team last week, redshirt-sophomore Danielle Gray of the Kennesaw State soccer team collected another academic honor as the she was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

“I am very honored to be selected to the Academic All-District team,” said Gray, a graduate of McIntosh High. “It is a privilege to be a student-athlete and I have worked hard to do my best in both the classroom and on the field. I would like to thank our Student-Athlete Success Services staff, my coaches and my team for supporting me throughout my time at KSU.”

The Capital One Academic All-America program is the premiere program in honoring collegiate student-athletes for excellence in the classroom and on the field of play. Nominees are voted on by sports information directors. Gray was named to the 2014 Atlantic Sun Conference Academic All-Conference team last Wednesday and owns a 4.0 GPA as a finance major in the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State. She is the lone Owl to have started all 18 contests this season for KSU and ranks first on the team with 1,565 minutes played in 2014.
