Veterans are honored by UDC

World War II veterans, William Lee Sewell, Newnan, served as a Yeoman Second Class in the United States Navy and Ernest Willard Wood, Bonaire, served as a Gunner’s Mate Third Class in the Navy, were given the UDC World War II Cross of Military Service by UDC President Linda Ramey.

The World War II Cross was awarded posthumously to Lewis Edward Quinn. It was received by his daughter, Barbara Quinn Fox of Fayetteville. He had served as a Corporal in Ordnance Company 4th Base Depot, Service Command, 1st Marine Forces, United States Marines.
