F’ville cops hunt for Subway robber

Fayetteville investigators are searching for the man who robbed the Subway sandwich shop on the city’s west side Sept. 12.

Det. Mike Whitlow said the robbery occurred at the Subway on Ga. Highway 54 West near Gingercake Road at approximately 9:30 p.m., near closing time.

Whitlow said a black male wearing all black clothing and a red bandana entered the store, produced a handgun and demanded money.

The man fled on foot running to the west toward the Waffle House restaurant, Whitlow said, adding that it is believed the man had a vehicle parked in the area.

Whitlow said investigators are processing evidence from the scene and are reviewing video cameras from the area.
