FCCF plans Fifth Sunday meeting
The Fellowship of Christian Churches and Friends (FCCF) will hold its regular Fifth Sunday Gathering on Aug. 31, at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church.  The celebration will highlight the women of the FCCF leadership churches through singing, praise dancing, and words of encouragement. The FCCF welcomes all churches and individuals  interested  in Christian unity.  The host pastor is the Rev. Melvin Ware. Mount Olive is in northwest Fayette County at 1565 Ga. Hwy. 92, North.

Choir to celebrate anniversary
The Singing The Lord’s Praise Sanctuary Choir will  celebrate its eighth anniversary Aug. 31 at 2:30 p.m. at the Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church, 175 Booker Ave., Fayetteville. The theme is “We Serve a Great God.” For directions to the church call 770-719-8722. The Rev. Kimberly Lyons is pastor.

Line Creek Baptist to host singing
Line Creek Baptist Church, formerly in Fayette County, now in Coweta, invites the community to its annual singing, Friday, Sept. 5, from 7:30 – 10 p.m. at the church, 1488 Bob Smith Road, Sharpsburg. Genealogy class dates changed
The LDS Church’s Fayetteville Family History lab has changed its meeting date from Wednesdays to Tuesdays. The free genealogy classes now will meet each Tuesday evening from 7 – 8:30 p.m. The class meets at 2021 Redwine Road in Fayetteville. Those attending can bring their own laptop/tablet or use those provided by the church. For questions or more information email

Prayer group meets at Summit
A community prayer group meets at The Summit Family Resource Center, 1373 Ga. Highway 92 S. Fayetteville, from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Thursday mornings.  This is an inter-denominational event. Everyone is invited. Call 770-460-3335 for more information.

 GriefShare sessions at Peachtree City United Methodist Church are open to anyone in the community grieving the loss of a friend or loved one,  and/or those who who need to connect with others going through the same journey.
