Chester Cleal Ping, age 100, of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away on July 25, 2014.
He was born on June 13, 1914 to Charles Wesley Ping and Mary Alice Barkus Ping in Miller, S.D.
He was the co-owner of Ping McCurdy Century 21 Real Estate in Peachtree City, Ga. for more than 20 years and a past President of the Fayette Board of Realtors. He was a member of Peachtree City Christian Church, a 25 year Mason, Indiana local and State Grange. Chester loved watching Westerns, watching the Braves and playing solitaire.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Doris Irene Ping; a son, A Ray Ping; and 10 brothers and sisters. He is survived by current wife, Louise Carter Ping of Union City, Ga.; his daughters, Dianna (Rich) Parlontieri of Peachtree City, Ga., and Debra (David) Price of Southern Shores, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Darla Ping of Medford, Ore.; grandchildren, Mark Ping of New York City, N.Y., Danny Ping of Buckhead, Ga., Rebekah Ping McAnally of Medford, Ore., Gina Parlontieri Hutchins of Sharpsburg, Ga., Matthew Price of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin Leroy Ping of Lebanon, Ind.; and numerous other family members.
A Service of Remembrance was held on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Peachtree City Christian Church at 11 a.m. with Dr. George Dillard officiating. A private family interment was held at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
