DOL staging recruitment drive to help Newnan’s Niagara plant fill 70 jobs

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help Niagara Bottling fill 70 jobs for a new facility under construction in Shenandoah Park in Newnan. When operational later this year, the facility will package and distribute bottled water. The company is the largest supplier of bottled water in the country.

A recruitment event will be held Thursday, July 31, from 4-7 p.m. at the West Georgia Technical College Coweta Campus, 200 Campus Drive in Newnan.

The company will be recruiting a human resources manager, experienced production supervisors, production operators, injection operators, maintenance mechanics, preventive maintenance mechanics, shipping associates, receiving associates, dock coordinators, inventory control associates, parts room associates, and quality assurance associates.

Due to federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. They must also have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED). The company will conduct a background check and a drug-screening test on selected applicants.

Applicants for the human resources manager position must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of human resources experience, or a high school diploma and a minimum of eight years of experience. Also, they must have computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with payroll and human resource systems.

Applicants for the production supervisor positions must have computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Oracle programs, and at least four years of experience as a manufacturing production supervisor.

All of the other production positions require at least four years of experience in their respective fields, except production operators and maintenance mechanics which require at least two years.
