A Union City man was arrested July 8 on numerous charges after stalking his wife and leading officers in Peachtree City and Tyrone on a chase.
Christopher Sinclair, 31, was charged with stalking, loitering, reckless driving, driving while suspended, child safety seat violations and obstruction, according to Peachtree City police spokesman Mark Brown.
Brown said officers on July 7 received a call of a domestic dispute at the post office on Ga. Highway 74 South. A post office employee had a previous TPO (temporary protective order) against her current husband, Christopher Sinclair, who was present and causing problems, said Brown.
Prior to officers’ arrival, the subject fled the scene, Brown said. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle, Brown added.
Officers received a second call from the victim on July 7 when the suspect returned to the post office in a different vehicle, said Brown. The offender fled again prior to the officers’ arrival and officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
Later that evening the victim called the police department after discovering the suspect sitting in the back seat of her vehicle at a local hotel. Again the suspect fled in another vehicle. On all three incidents, the suspect used a different vehicle, said Brown.
Brown said the victim called police on July 8 to request an escort to work. Officers responded by assisting the victim in getting to work safely, he said.
“As a precaution, the officer checked the surrounding parking lots and located the subject conducting surveillance on the victim,” Brown said. ”The officers attempted to contact the subject.
However, he fled the area. The officers observed children in the vehicle and were unable to catch up to the suspect.”
Brown said Tyrone police officers were able to locate the suspect and vehicle and initiate a traffic stop.
