The Fayette County Commission will begin its budgeting process June 4 at a 3 p.m. workshop meeting.
There is no need for a tax increase, according to County Administrator Steve Rapson.
The meeting will consist of presenting the detailed budget information to the commission so they can have time to review it on their own over the following days prior to a budget hearing on June 12, Rapson said.
Today’s meeting will take place in the commission’s small conference room at the county’s administrative complex in downtown Fayetteville, directly across Ga. Highway 85 from the American Legion Log Cabin.
Rapson said the county’s budget is healthy and balanced with surpluses on hand “so we are not anticipating any tax increase at all.”
