The South Metro Rose Society will be holding its 29th annual Rose Show on May 17-18 at Fayetteville Church of Christ fellowship hall at 870 Redwine Rd.
Local rose growers are invited to enter their roses into competition. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded. Members of the society will advise newcomers on entering their roses by calling the number below. Entries must be made at the show site by 9:30 a.m. on May 17 for judging. The show is free to the public from 1-4 p.m. on both days to view, smell, and photograph the exhibited roses.
Hundreds of roses and rose arrangements will be displayed. Rose bouquets will be sold and there will be an Information Table where questions will be answered by ARS Consulting Rosarians. Items to be raffled include a silver plated rose from R. DuBose Jewelers, Georgia Aquarium tickets, Georgia Shrimp gift certificates, Pike’s and Autumn Hill Nursery gift certificates, miniature and large rose bushes, and more.
South Metro Rose Society is affiliated with the American Rose Society located in Shreveport, LA. SMRS meets on the 4th Monday of Jan-Apr and Aug-Oct at The Heritage Bank at 440 N.
