Melba Hart Dailey, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away November 26, 2013.
She was born in College Park, Ga. to the late Ernest E. and Jewell Hart. She was a teacher for 26 years primarily at North Clayton High School. Since 1937, she was a member of College Park 2nd Baptist, now McDonough Road Baptist Church. She was an avid animal lover who devoted efforts to rescuing and caring for dogs. She believed every dog should have a home.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lawrence Dailey of Fayetteville, daughter Deeva Dailey of Estes Park, Colo. and son Greg Dailey of Winston-Salem, N.C.
A funeral service will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Dr. David Chancey and Dr. J.W. Wallis will officiate. The burial will follow at College Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
