A Jonesboro man has been charged in connection to a Sept. 20 residential burglary in south Fayette County.

Anthony Alan Hanare, 19, was charged with one count of burglary, Babb said.

Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies on Sept. 20 responded to a burglary on Burkwood Court off Ga. Highway 85 South. The victim stated that their door had been forced open and several items were taken from inside the home, Babb said.

Detectives arrived on scene and spoke to neighbors about what happened.

“One witness reported seeing a suspicious vehicle in the area around the time of the burglary,” said Babb. “The witness gave detectives enough information and they were able to locate the vehicle seen by the witness.”

Detectives on Sept. 23 executed a search warrant at Hanare’s Jonesboro residence, said Babb. Evidence from the burglary was recovered and Hanare was arrested and charged with one count of burglary, Babb added.
