Olive Martin Hall, age 97, of Fayetteville Ga. passed away on September 3, 2013.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.
A native and longtime resident of Milledgeville, Ga. Hall later moved to Fayetteville Ga. She was a member of the 1936 graduating class of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She worked for many years at J. P. Stevens and later retired from The Exchange Bank. In Milledgeville, she was very active at First Baptist Church, including choir member, and in Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW). After moving to Fayetteville, she continued her affiliation with BPW and became very active at Fayetteville First Baptist Church, holding offices in Women’s Missionary Union and her Sunday School class and was a regular helper at Vacation Bible School each summer. Ms. Hall delivered Meals on Wheels for her church until she stopped driving at age 90. At age 96, she fulfilled a lifelong dream in attending the Kentucky Derby. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, bird watching, going to the beach and, most of all, being with family.
She is predeceased by daughter Barbara Jean Hall Stribling, grandson Nick Stribling, Jr., brother Lonnie E Martin, sisters Alta (Sis) Ross and Grace Dawson.
Survivors include her daughter Connie Hall Treadwell (Ken) of Fayetteville, Ga.; one sister, Dovie Hoskinson, Greenville S.C.; grandchildren Ashley Price (Kevin), Winston Ga., Andy (Jennifer) Stribling, Leeds Ala., Lindsey (Trent) Anthony, North Augusta S.C., Allison Wright (Chasen), Fayetteville, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Zach Stribling, Cameron Strutton, Paige Stribling, Ryan Strutton, Natalie Stribling, Preston Agan and Olive Anthony; son-in-law Nick Stribling, nieces, nephews and special friend and caregiver Nancy Calhoun.
