Fayetteville police are investigating the Tuesday night robbery of the Flash Foods store on Ga. Highway 54 West. The suspect described in the robbery was very similar in appearance to the suspect who held up two Peachtree City convenience stores over the weekend.

Det. Melissa Peacock said the robbery occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. Tuesday when a white male entered the Flash Foods store and, without displaying a weapon, demanded that the clerk give him money from the cash register. Once he received the money, the man told the clerk to go stand by the coffee pot, Peacock said. The man then left the store, Peacock added.

Peacock said a Fayetteville officer was in the vicinity and responded to the store within 20 seconds of being dispatched to the location, noting that the man had already left the scene.

The suspect was described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s with light, scruffy facial hair, approximately 6 feet in height and weighing 200-230 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue long-sleeve shirt and jeans and wearing a white baseball cap with red lettering.

Anyone with information pertaining to this crime is asked to contact Det. Peacock at 770-461-4441.
