Dr. Karen Edith (Mott) Weaver of Fayetteville, Ga., died at home on Easter Sunday following a 15 month battle with ovarian cancer. She was 66 years old.

Karen was born September 23, 1946 in Johnstown, Pa., daughter of William and Helen (Hakanen) Mott. She is preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Ross L. Weaver, two daughters Lisa Diane Weaver and Nicol Erin Weaver-Landis, wife of Patrick Landis, and her three adoring grandchildren, Zachary Brown and Hannah and Cole Landis. She is loved by her sisters, Diana (wife of Paul Nagy), Mary Ann (wife of Steven Miller), Nancy (wife of Julio Casanas) and her brother David Mott (married to Pam Trexel).

Dr. Weaver received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Emory University and her PhD in Nursing Education from Georgia State University. She worked as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Clayton State University near Atlanta.

Karen will be remembered for being a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mentor, and friend. The hearts that Karen touched are innumerable. The number of people who touched Karen’s heart will always be appreciated and never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on the 21st of April from 4-6 p.m. in the atrium at the Harry Downs Continuing Education Building at Clayton State University. Karen has donated her body to the university system of Georgia for educational and research purposes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in her honor.
