Mr. John Gonsalves De Jesus Jr., age 84, resident of Peachtree City, GA, died at his home on Nov. 28, 2012.
John was born Jan. 23, 1928, in New Bedford, Mass., the son of John de Jesus and Guilhermina Vieira de Jesus.
John was raised and educated in New Bedford. He was a resident of Mass. until he relocated his family in 1972 to GA, as a result of the Northeast/Delta merger.
John is survived by his children whom he loved: Jacqueline Marie (Dan) Ryan, Virginia de Jesus Yates, John de Jesus (Marla) Goncalves, Theresa Ann (Jim) Hogarth, Rose Marie Tucker, and James Carl De Jesus, and he was very proud of his grandchildren: Katie, Tracie, Jaime, Annabel, Gavin, Cathy, Chris, Christy, Tiffany, and Danielle, and his great-grandchildren: Sarah, Ashley, Evan, Ryan Elizabeth, Bridget, Cody, Carson, Brooklyn, Andrew, and Colton.
John was preceded in death by both of his wives, Virginia Mae (Horne) de Jesus and Elizabeth Lillian (Hyatt) de Jesus, his daughter Guilhermina (Jill) de Jesus and his childhood sister Celeste de Jesus.
Private family services and internment with Honor Guard will be held at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, Georgia.
