Jon Michael “Mike” Kattness, 40, of Peachtree City, passed away Sept. 27, 2012 after a long, valiant battle with cancer.

Michael was born in Austin, Texas on August 29, 1972 to Janice “Sue” Dannheim Kattness and Robert B. Kattness. Michael was a truly unique spirit who lived life to the fullest. He had infectious sense of humor and an undeniable zest for life. He touched many lives and each one will be forever brighter because of him.

Michael is survived by his parents, Sue and Bob Kattness; sister and brother-in-law, Stacy and Kevin Nelson; nephew Gavin I. Nelson; niece Ava Grace Nelson; paternal grandmother Helen F. Kattness of McGregor, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins across the country.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert W. Kattness of McGregor, Texas; maternal grandparents, Ethel and R.V. Dannheim of Lometa, Texas; and uncle, John Martino of McGregor, Texas.

A memorial service was held Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son, Peachtree City. The burial will follow later in McGregor, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made in Michael’s name to The Peachtree City Volunteer EMS fund or to The Real Life Center in Tyrone, Ga.
