Walter John Kyriacou, 70 years old of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Doctor’s Hospice in Fayetteville, Ga., from complications related to cancer.
Walter was born July 21, 1942 in New York City. Married in 1964 to the love of his life, Elinor Sheehy, the couple would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on September 12th.
After leaving N.Y. and moving to Virginia for a time, Walter and his family settled in Peachtree City in 1980. Walter made a living selling cars at several of the local dealerships and had many repeat customers due to his honest nature and the way he treated people. He spent his last years working for Home Depot at the Newnan and Peachtree City stores. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoyed fishing on Lake Peachtree, golfing and vacationing at the beach. He was also a long time Atlanta Braves fan.
Walter is survived by his wife, Elinor Kyriacou of Peachtree City, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Plushetta Kyriacou of Decatur, Ga.; daughter, Kelly Kyriacou of Leesburg, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Ann and Robert Ferguson of Burke, Va.; brother-in-law, James Sheehy and his wife, Kim of Palm Desert, Calif.; sister-in-law, Camille Priola of Spotsylvania, Va.; nieces, Laura Delaney (Tim) of Annandale, Va. and Lisa Roach (Jimmy) of Herndon, Va., and their children; nephew, Ryan Sheehy of Washington, D.C.; and cats, Fuzzball and Coco. Preceding Walter in death were his father, Emanuel Kyriacou and mother, Amelia Andresen.
A private family service is planned for a later date.
