The Rev. Miriam and David Beecher will discuss their recent mini-sabbatical trip to Germany on two occasions at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church — Sept. 2 and Sept. 6.

Miriam was pastor-in-residence with Wittenberg English Ministry in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany, for two weeks. Her responsibilities included leading eight worship services at Corpus Christi Chapel, the Castle Church where Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses, and the Town Church of St. Mary.

David was privileged to play the organs in the latter two churches.

They worshiped also at churches in Rotherberg ob der Tauber, Leipzig, and Dresden. Additionally, they visited 10 more churches or cathedrals.

On Sunday, Sept. 2, at 9:40 a.m. the Beechers will focus on worship experiences and other “God moments” of inspiration and learning. All are invited.

On Thursday, Sept. 6, the church’s Senior Go-Getters will see travelogue slides of the trip while enjoying a catered dinner.

The Beechers visited Munich, Salzburg, Füssen, Frankfort, Cologne, and Berlin along with the cities listed above. They and their two sons took hundreds of photos, and some of those will be shown at the 6:30 p.m. dinner.

The cost is $12. For more information, anyone may call the church office or email djmorris1@gmail.com by Aug. 31.
