Fayetteville police investigators are working two residential burglaries that occurred in the past week. One came as a result of a forced entry into the home while the other is suspected by the resident to have been linked to a former roommate.
Fayetteville Police spokesman Steve Crawshaw said officers were alerted to the weekend burglary after the female resident arrived home during the afternoon hours of July 22. She returned to find a window broken in the rear of the home and a gaming system, jewelry, a laptop computer and clothes stolen, Crawshaw said.
Another burglary, this one at a Knight Way residence, occurred sometime between July 19 and 20. The residence showed no signs of forced entry, Crawshaw added.
Crawshaw said the resident returned home to find a laptop computer, Airsoft guns, movies and other items missing.
Crawshaw said the resident believes the burglary might be linked to a former roommate.
