Georgia Singers presents its Spring Concert on Sunday, May 20 at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City on Willowbend Road.
The concert is open to the public at 2:45 p.m. Your donations are requested.
Dramatic and outstanding performances of choral music for women’s voices will be heard, including works by Henry Purcell, J.S. Bach, music from the Venetian Ospedali by Francesco Brusa, French opera choruses by Delibes and Offenbach, and modern masterpieces by American composers Leonard Bernstein (Simple Song from the Mass) and Randall Stroope (Psalm 23), and the wonderful Herbert Brewer Magnificat.
The choir features soloists, Jessica Morris, oboe, Rachel Green, flute, Traci Corné and Brooke Beatty, mezzo-soprano, and Jenna Hamlin and Nora Wilfong, sopranos.
The choirs are under the direction of Dr. Franklin Green and accompanied by Rick Massengale.
Auditions are being held for the Summer Festival, June 23-29, (for grades 9 through young adult) and for the Fall Season (grades 7 through 10 for Bel Canto, and grade 11 through young adult for Georgia Singers). Call 678-770-0707 for an appointment with Dr. Green.
