Fayette County sheriff’s deputies are hunting two burglary suspects who sped away from a deputy who tried to stop them in Tyrone.
The pursuit led the deputy and other law enforcement through Tyrone and south Fulton County a few minutes ago. The suspects ditched their vehicle on Spicewood Court near Love T. Nolan elementary school in College Park and deputies are on foot trying to locate the suspects, with the Hawk 1 helicopter in the air above and K-9 tracking teams on their way to the scene.
It is believed the suspects may be armed with firearms stolen during the burglary.
The suspects’ vehicle, described as a black Buick Lucerne with a U.S. Army auto tag, was at least partially disabled by spike strips laid by a deputy at the intersection of Westbridge Road and Ga. Highway 138.
