Fayette County 4-H youth had a blast celebrating Valentine’s Day at the February Club Green meeting. Twenty 4-Hers gathered to bake cookies and create valentine cards for local firefighters. After learning safe hand washing and food handling practices, they put their knowledge to good use to make three dozen chocolate chip cookies. Along with the handmade valentine cards, the cookies were delivered by Club Green leaders to the firefighters of Fayetteville Fire Station 91. Club Green, for 5th-8th graders, meets the first Monday of every month from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Extension Office in the Stonewall Office complex. The 4-H Program is available to all Fayette County youth ages 9-19 and offers opportunities including science based learning, community service, leadership, a horse club, and a shooting sports program. For more information contact Fayette County Cooperative Extension at 770-305-5412×7. Photo/Special.
