The Fayette-Starrs Mill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently had a proclamation celebrating the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 signed by Peachtree City Mayor Don Haddix. At the Battle of Fort McHenry during the War, Francis Scott Key penned the poem, “The Star-Spangled Banner”, which became our National Anthem. Standing, from left, are Sylvia Nolde, Frances Meaders, Mary Snyder and Rosemary Norris. Seated is Peachtree City mayor Don Haddix. Photo/Special.
