Ruth Lenora Schlegel, 89, of Peachtree City passed away November 29, 2011. Ruth was born in Brooklyn, NY to Edward Kling & Catherine Johnson Kling. Ruth retired from Consolidated Edison in NY as a customer service agent. She was an expert seamstress who taught sewing in New York City. She was a charter member and President of the Peachtree Pioneers in 1986-1987. Ruth was a volunteer for Travelers Aide at Hartsfield Atlanta Airport. She loved traveling with her friend Jessie Price. Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Schlegel. Mrs. Schelgel is survived by her children Caroline Price & husband Harold of Peachtree City, Cathy Wayand & husband Fred of Statesville, NC, John Schlegel of Peachtree City, Ethel Schlegel of Peachtree City.; 7 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church with remains placed in state at 10:00 AM. Pastor Miriam Beecher with officiate. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will have a reception at the church immediately following the interment service to
receive friends.
