The Rev. Dr. Marcus J. Miller will preach at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City this weekend. His theme will be “Going with Jesus to Deeper Waters.”
Services are on Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 8:30, 10:50, and 11 a.m.
Miller became president of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, S.C., in 2006. For 11 years before that he was bishop of the Northeastern Ohio Synod, ELCA.
He holds degrees from New York Theological Seminary, Concordia Seminary, and Concordia College, Ft. Wayne, Ind. He has taught at both college and secondary levels, and he has been active in ecumenical affairs throughout his career.
At Sunday morning services, youth worship teams will participate, including “one50” high school praise band, puppet troupe, Word team, Moved by Grace, and The Shepherd’s Band.
At the 10:50 worship two baptisms will be celebrated for Davis Klein and Nathaniel Thoman.
