The Fayette County Historical Society will meet on Sunday, Sept. 25. Their September meeting is always held at Starr’s Mill.

When the movie “Sweet Home Alabama” was made in 2002, Starr’s Mill was rented for a scene in the movie. The movie company remodeled the inside first floor of the mill. If you ever wanted to see the inside of the hundred-year old mill building looks like, this is your chance to see it.

Starr’s Mill native, Bobby Kerlin, will be on hand to give the history of the mill and of the area. His ancestors go back a number of generations in this area.

The meeting begins at 3 p.m. and is open to the public, you do not have to be a member to attend.

Oh yes, remember to bring a lawn chair.
