Spears will speak on parenting tonight
Dr. Dana Spears, Ph.D, L.P.C. will present a program on “Video game addiction and the effects of social media on teens” tonight, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Faith Formation Chapel at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City. Spears is the author of the parenting book, Strong-Willed Child or Dreamer? The event is open to the public. Holy Trinity is at 101 Walt Banks Rd. (corner of Walt Banks and Ga. Highway 54) in Peachtree City.

CDM seminar set for Sept. 24
Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM) in Fairburn will host a seminar titled Prophet Chambers Training on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The speaker will be Prophet Timothy Frazier. This training is for those who feel called to the office of the prophet and for those who want to understand the role of the prophet in the 21st century. COS to donate nets for malaria prevention
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will participate in the national Lutheran Initiative Against Malaria Sunday, Sept. 25. The congregation will donate insecticide-treated mosquito nets, at $10 each, for delivery to Africa. At noon, youth and the Social Services team will sponsor “Nothing by Nets Fun Day,” where everyone is invited to shoot baskets and raise funds for the Initiative. The church is on the corner of Ga. Open Door’s Homecoming set for Sept. 25
Open Door Baptist Church in Senoia will have its 37th Homecoming Service on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. Pastor Steve Smith will lead worship. Lunch will follow the service. Chabad will host High Holy Days
Chabad of Peachtree City will host High Holy Days this year at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, 2443 Ga. Hwy. 54 West, Peachtree City, starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Sept. 28. Vendor applications start Oct. 1
Vendor applications will be available Oct. 1 for Holy Trinity Catholic Church’s First Annual Holiday Bazaar set for Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday Dec. 11. White Oak Presbyterian plans barbecue
The 28th Annual Fall Barbecue at White Oak Presbyterian Church in Coweta County will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Perennial favorites, barbecue plates, quarts of Brunswick stew, and pounds of barbecue, will be $8 each. Proceeds support White Oak’s foreign and local missionaries and missions. Historic White Oak Presbyterian is at 2796 Gordon Rd., between Turin and Luthersville, near the intersection of Gordon Road and Ga. Highway 54.

Open Door youth will host yard sale Oct. 1
The youth at Open Door Baptist Church in Senoia will host a Yard Sale in the church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Featured will be gently used items, crafts and baked goods. Rainbow groups forming at Holy Trinity
Rainbows is a program that fosters emotional healing for children and teens who are grieving a loss due to a death, divorce, deployment, or other emotional trauma. Rainbow Groups are now forming and sessions will begin in January, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City. Prayer group formed at Summit
A community prayer group is being formed at The Summit Family Resource Center, 1373 Ga. Highway 92 S. Fayetteville. The group will meet from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Thursday mornings. COS offers Disciple Bible study class
A new Disciple Bible study class on the book of Romans meets on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City. It is taught by the pastors, staff and lay teachers. Interested students are invited. COS is on the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway.

Vendors sought for craft fair
Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will host its 22nd annual craft fair and bric-a-brac sale on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.. The Christmas Marketplace offers a variety of talent, with over 70 vendors last year. Crafters who are interested in a booth are asked to contact Carol at 770-330-1672 for vendor information.

Summit offers free tutoring
The Summit Presbyterian Church offers free tutoring for elementary and high school students. Classes meet on Wednesdays, one from 4-5 p.m. and another from 5-6 p.m. Help is offered in math, reading, homework, science, and language arts. Tutors are supervised by certified teachers.
