Holly Grove AME’s revival starts tonight
Holly Grove African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church will hold revival Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 31 – Sept. 2, at 7:15 p.m. nightly. Wednesday’s guest preacher will be the Rev. Ed Johnson from Flat Rock AME Church in Fayetteville. Thursday night’s message will be delivered by Elder Michael Phillips. The revival will conclude Friday with the Rev. James Miller. Holly Grove is at 400 Holly Grove Church Rd., Peachtree City. The senior pastor is the Rev. Larry Ervin.

Inman men change meeting date

Merrill Chapel plans revival
A Summer Revival at Merrill Chapel United Methodist Church (UMC) will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31 – Friday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. each night. The guest preacher for the revival is the Rev Danny Nance from Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Douglasville. Merrill Chapel is at 430 South Jeff Davis Dr., Fayetteville. The senior pastor is the Rev. Richard Gilbert.

Inman offering hybrid home-school classes
Inman United methodist Church offers a hybrid home-school class that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Griffith Youth House. New church meeting on Friday nights
Gospel Community Church is a new church now meeting in the Harvest Christian Community Center on Friday Nights at 7:30. The lead pastor is Kirk McDonald and the congregation is presently composed of 17 families.

Summit again offers free tutoring
The Family Resource Center at The Summit Presbyterian Church will once again offer free tutoring for elementary and high school students. Classes meet on Wednesdays, one from 4-5 p.m. and another from 5-6 p.m. Help is offered in math, reading, homework, science, and language arts. Tutors are supervised by certified teachers. Revival service planned for Sept. 3

COS plans Sept. 11 remembrances
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will remember Sept. 11, 2001, in two ways. During regular worship services special prayers and music by Sanctuary Choir, Joyful Noise Ringers, and The Christ Our Shepherd Flute Choir will mark the anniversary. Then a one-hour service at 6 p.m. will include music, prayers and reflections by those affected by the disaster. The public is invited.

Inman offers Exodus Bible study
Members of Inman United Methodist Church will begin a Bible study on the book of Exodus Sunday, Sept. 11, at 4 p.m. in the Pathfinder’s Sunday School class. A new booklet will be used but the format will be much the same as the study last spring. The cost of the booklet is $10. To sign up, call the church office, 770-461-2123.

Nativity continues new service schedule
The Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Fayetteville, which began having a single service at 10 a.m. each Sunday early in the summer, will continue on that schedule for the rest of this calendar year. The church had originally planned to return to two Sunday services beginning this month but decided to stick with the present arrangement because it has been well received by members and also has enabled the parish to reduce costs for utilities. Sunday school classes will resume Sept. 11.

GreekFest coming in September
St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church invites the community to attend GreekFest 2011, Saturday, Sept. 17 from 6:30 until … at the Dixie Wing Commemorative Hangar at Falcon Field in Peachtree City. The event will feature live music and dancing, ‘All You Can Eat and Drink’ Greek appetizers and salad, lemon chicken, pastitsio, and pastries, adult beverages and more. Bethany celebrates 155 years Sept. 18
Bethany United Methodist Church will celebrate 155 years of service to the community with a Homecoming celebration on Sept. 18. Morning worship will be at 10:55 a.m. with lunch following. The event will feature special singing. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a well-filled basket to share.Bethany is on the corner of Milam-Rivers and Lee’s Lake roads in northern Fayette County.

Vendors sought for craft fair
Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will host its 22nd annual craft fair and bric-a-brac sale on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m..
