Enjoy a fun-filled evening under the stars when gates open at 7 p.m., with Edwin McCain performing at 8 p.m., and 10,000 Maniacs taking the stage at 9 p.m.

10,000 Maniacs will celebrate 30 years of making music as they bring their anniversary tour to the Fred. One of the most critically acclaimed bands of the last three decades, 10,000 Maniacs helped define college rock and created what became known as the alternative rock format on FM radio. The Maniacs released their hit album “In My Tribe” in 1987, which featured the well-known singles “Don’t Talk,” “Hey Jack Kerouac,” and “Like the Weather.” The album stayed on the charts for 77 weeks, and was voted one of the 100 most important releases of the decade by Rolling Stone Magazine. Other hit singles include “These Are Days,” “Everyday is Like Sunday” and “Because the Night.” With the talented lead vocalist Mary Ramsey taking the place of Natalie Merchant, the current band members include: Jerry Augustyniak on drums, Jeff Erickson on lead guitar, Dennis Drew on keyboard and Steve Gustafson on bass guitar.

Edwin McCain, sharing the bill with ‘Maniacs,’ has produced 11 albums, and is famous for his hit singles including “I’ll Be,” “I Could Not Ask for More,” “Far From Over” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.” First erupting into the music scene in the mid-90’s, McCain’s extraordinary talent for writing songs that all types of people can easily identify with has turned his songs into timeless standards.
