Busy Council Agenda for July 21
The Mayor and City Council will meet on Thursday, July 21, 7:00 p.m., at City Hall. Agenda items include recognizing the July 4th Parade Winners; surplussing Dive Team equipment; Public Hearings on the FY 2012 budget, a setback variance in Fairfield, and an ordinance regarding donation drop-off boxes; reallocating SPLOST funds; redemption of 2006 DAPC Revenue Bond; and an Alcohol Ordinance change in distance requirements (schools, churches, etc.). WASA Working in Wynnmeade and Aberdeen & Kedron This Summer
This week, the Peachtree City Water & Sewerage Authority (WASA) will begin work on two projects. The first is the sewer rehabilitation on Kings Ridge Dr. in Wynnmeade, which begins this week with inspections and preconstruction preparation and will include some traffic lane closures and some temporary service disruptions for homes in the area during the week of August 1. More detail on road closures will be provided prior to the project starting. This project should be completed by August 12.

The second project involves sewer line cleaning and video inspections of the sanitary sewer trunk line that starts along the western side of Lake Peachtree to Kedron Dr. (along the cart path from Riley Pkwy and Flat Creek Dr., in Fairfield Subdivision, and on Wisdom Road). The final area will be along the creek behind Walnut Grove Rd. This work should be completed by the end of August. The initial work will be from Riley Pkwy to Peachtree City Elementary. Please use caution along the paths and roadways when workers are present.

Solicitors Alert – Platinum Protection
The Police Department issued several solicitor permits July 12 to Platinum Protection, a GE Security Authorized Dealer. Representatives will be soliciting door to door in the City for the next week, ending July 26. The Police Department has received several calls from citizens regarding the company’s door-to-door solicitation. No relationship or endorsement exists between GE Security and the Police Department other than that of a private company receiving a solicitor’s permit from the City. All solicitors should have a copy of their permit. If you have any questions regarding this alert, please contact the Police Department at 770-487-8866.

Traffic Advisory – North Hill CLOSED to auto and path traffic Monday, July 25
The Homeowners Association of North Hill on Peachtree Parkway North will be having the private street resealed on Monday, July 25. As a result, the roadway will be closed to both auto and PATH traffic. If the weather delays the project, it will be rescheduled to Monday, August 1.

City Items for Auction at Govdeals.com and www.adesa.com/Atlanta beginning July 21
Peachtree City will accept bids on www.Govdeals.com for various items, including cameras, a camera bag, a printer, VHS and VCR players, a typewriter, various office equipment and multiple televisions. The auctions are expected to begin on July 21 and continue through approximately August 5. Items at www.adesa.com/Atlanta on July 21 include nine Crown Victoria Pursuit vehicles, one Ford Taurus, one GEM, radios, two fuel pumps, one Petro vend tower and various partitions used in Crown Vic Pursuit cars.

Leisure Services Commission Regular Meeting – Monday, July 18, 6:30 p.m., at City Hall. In lieu of its regular meeting, the Leisure Services Commission will hold a workshop session to discuss the effects of City reorganization on volunteer youth athletic associations and on the commission. The public is welcome.
