There will be a fishing contest for ages 16 and under that will be held at the lake in the park.

The committee is trying to contact all past and present Tyrone citizens and businesses to help them gather information, historical facts, maps, family information to go into The Centennial Book.

It will be a hardcover book published by the end of the year, and will include all the information possible in 10-year periods, from 1911 to 2011.

There is a meeting planned for Friday, July 8 at 10 a.m. at the Tyrone Recreation Department for everyone who is interested in sharing their information, photos, etc., so plans for the book can go forward.
