After a brief illness, Randolph H. Crider, 84, of Peachtree City, Georgia died peacefully Tuesday, June 7, 2011, with family by his side.
He was born in St. Matthews, SC on December 14, 1926. Randy joined the Navy and was stationed in Maine as a 3rd Class Yeoman during WWII. He attended the University of SC and retired in 1990 from Burroughs/Unisys after 42 years of service. Randy was an active member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville and a charter member of Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Shaler and Belle Crider and brother Cramer L. Crider. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jo Kleckley Crider; three children: Kim Hermecz (David) of Peachtree City, GA, Julie Still (Daryl) of Acworth, GA and Joni Strandquest of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren Christopher and Rachel Hermecz and Robert, Kimberly and Caleb Still. He is also survived by three sisters, Louise Crider of St. Matthews, SC, Betty Black of Orangeburg, SC and Evelyn Dunlap of Cayce, SC.
A memorial service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 11 at 11 AM. Visitation will take place at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville from 6-8 PM, Friday, June 10, 2011. Burial will be on Monday, June 13 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
