The Coweta Charter Academy at Senoia will begin taking applications for enrollment in mid-April for the upcoming school year. The 2011-2012 school year will see the school expand, offering classes for grades K-7.
The school this year has classes for grades K-3. Principal Terry Stollar said the addition of new classes up through grade 7 next year will accommodate up to 710 students. Plans for next school year include five kindergarten classes, four classes each for grades 1-6 and two classes for grade 7 students, Stollar said.
Enrollment sessions are scheduled for April 12 and 28 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. The school will determine on April 15 if a lottery is needed at any grade level.
The charter school will go before the Senoia City Council on Monday for the second hearing and potential approval of its request to be annexed into the city.
Expansion plans show a proposed two-story, 34,066 square-foot addition at the rear of the current building and a 1,560 square-foot addition on the west side of the current building situated along Hwy. 16.
