Patricia Ann Holloway Reeves, age 68 and formerly of Sterlington and Monroe, LA, passed away after a courageous, three-year battle with cancer on December 18, 2010, at her home in Fayetteville, GA, with her husband Larry and family by her side.

She was born April 15, 1942, in Oak Grove , LA , to Lloyd and Emma Lee Bonner Holloway.

She graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe , LA, and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana College where she was crowned Miss Louisiana College in 1962. Mrs. Reeves also received a Master’s degree from Northeast Louisiana University. She was a retired elementary school educator from the Fayette County School System in Fayetteville .

In addition to her love of teaching, she was passionate about her church family and Sunday School class at New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville and enjoyed going on mission trips to Belarus and Wales, sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Mrs. Reeves took pride in creating a warm atmosphere in her home where everyone was welcomed and loved, especially at her Patriotic Celebration each summer. She always had a kind word to say and carried with her a gracious and joyful spirit and ever-present smile. Her grandchildren were among the greatest joys in her life.

Mrs. Reeves is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Larry Reeves, Sr.; a son, LTC Larry Reeves, Jr. and wife Christie of Ft. Knox, KY; a daughter, Jana Reeves Wiggins and husband Ben of Moultrie, GA; four grandchildren, Blake and Leah Grace Wiggins, and Morgann and Mitchell Reeves; a sister and best friend, Janis Holloway McDonald, of Monroe, LA; a brother, Mike Holloway of Sterlington, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and countless friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, December 20, at Carl J. Mowell and Sons Funeral Home at 180 N. Jeff Davis Drive in Fayetteville .

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 21, at New Hope Baptist Church at 551 New Hope Road in Fayetteville .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Missions Fund.
