A local Christian rock band called “House of Thomas” (www.houseofthomasband.com) has been doing some Friday night, acoustic performances at Upscale Pizza (owned by Truett Cathy) for the last few weeks, along with singer/songwriter David McCollum out of Morrow.

The group performs from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Spokesperson Robbie Lee, who also is the worship leader for New Vision Church in Fayetteville, says, “The turnout has been fantastic and we are experiencing a very positive response that seems to be growing more and more each week. We’re scheduled to perform for the remainder of the year every Friday night. Upscale Pizza has a quaint, sort of vintage environment absolutely perfect for the acoustic music vibe. They have a side patio where we have been setting up the stage and it lends well to the show. There is absolutely no cover charge and the food there is great! Along with their specialty pizza, they also have other great selections with incredible shakes and cookies too.”

House of Thomas is an energetic Christian rock band known for electric guitars and flashy light shows. However, Lee says, “This toned down, acoustic delivery is a very rich and welcome change of pace for me and the guys.”

The band has been together now for over five years and continues to increase its fan base as it performs locally as well as nationally. The group has performed with such artists as Third Day, Mercy Me, DecembeRadio, as well as many others.

With one top 10 radio hit as well as another reaching the top 20, House of Thomas’s debut album “Without A Doubt!” was released in Christian book stores in 2008. They are now currently in the studio recording their sophomore project due to be released in the coming weeks.

Upscale Pizza is on Ga. Highway 314 in Fayetteville.
