You can just feel the excitement in the air at Falcon Field in Peachtree City and on Oct. 9 and 10, you will be able to see it.
The countdown has begun, and the 13th Annual Great Georgia Air Show (GGAS) is ready for take-off.
And with a line-up of events featuring gravity-defying jets, thundering jet trucks, vintage warbirds and a one-of-a-kind wingwalking performance organizers are bracing for what could be the “most exciting show yet.”
Adding to the excitement, this year’s show — produced by the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City and the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), Dixie Wing — will feature military aircraft, civilian aerobatics, historic warbirds performing the Battle of Midway and a number of ground activities for both days.
Back by popular demand is three-time National Champion Gene Soucy, as he tears up the sky in the ShowCat with his combination of smoke, noise and elegance in the air.
The crowd favorite features wingwalker Teresa Stokes, as she climbs onto the wings of the ShowCat, piloted by Soucy, for her wild ride on a wing. And if you are lucky, you’ll even catch a glimpse of a headstand in the sky.
And, of course, no show is complete until Gene demonstrates his one-wheel landing.
The air show will host Team Chaos Extreme Airshows — a thrill-a-minute dog fight between two aircraft and a jet truck– as well as static modern military aircraft and the thrills and chills of some of the best in the business when it comes to civilian aerobatics.And you don’t want to miss the ever popular Flash Fire Jet Truck, Gary Ward and the MX2, BearFeat Acrobatics and our very own local magic in the air Red Eagle Airsports.

The CAF Dixie Wing will showcase its growing collection of vintage World War II and Korean War-era aircraft. The organization, based in Peachtree City, is the Georgia chapter of the Commemorative Air Force, an international non-profit dedicated to restoring and flying vintage American military aircraft. Rides will be available for purchase in the CAF Dixie Wing, SBD Dauntless, LT-6 Mosquito and C-45 Expeditor.
Once again, the military will reinforce American dominance in the skies with appearances by F-15s, F-16s, F-18s and the C-130.
And, if it doesn’t get any better than this, one of the pilots is home-grown Lt. Col. Alexander G. Haldopoulus, a 1988 graduate of McIntosh High School in Peachtree City.
Spectators will be able to get close up and personal with static military aircraft on the ground as well.
Scott Slade of WSB Talk Radio will serve as the air show announcer for the 13th consecutive year.
As always, this year’s The Great Georgia Airshow will be more than an air show. There will also be a lot of fun on the grounds of Falcon Field. The show provides a venue for educational displays and kids activities throughout the weekend.
Numerous vendors will be selling arts, crafts, souvenirs, and food.
Proceeds from the show will benefit local non-profit organizations, including school groups and scouting.

Advance tickets can be purchased at Kroger stores until midnight Oct. 8. Advance tickets are discounted and sell for; Adults $15, Children, ages 6-12, $5. Kids ages 5 and under get in free. After Oct. 8, tickets are also available at the gate; Adults $18, Children, ages 6-12, $7. Gates open at 9 a.m. both days, with aerial performances from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. To better ensure security and safety absolutely no coolers, backpacks, or pets.
